Instead enjoying the peace of this special time of year, it often feels like we’re pushed and pulled to do more, more, more. Or, if we’re experiencing hard things, it seems like holiday happiness is mandatory and there’s no room for our grief. So what’s really “enough” at the holidays? Emily shares a few ways to find “enough” and sit in the warm glow of hope, even when we’re struggling.

A Blessing for Your Week
During these holy days and long, dark nights, may you repeat this mantra to yourself:
“I am enough.
The magic I provide is enough.
I will not give beyond my capacity for joy.
I choose to spend this time of year being, not doing.
Because being, in and of itself, is enough.
I am already enough.
I was, as Lady Gaga would say, born this way.
I was, am, and always will be enough.
Simplicity Tip of the Week
This time of year, when your routine is so topsy-turvy, it can be so hard to find time to take care of yourself. Getting the sleep you need. Getting the nutrition and movement and alone time and relationship time you need, all in balanced measure.
So today, I just want you to check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Is there anything you need? If you can muster it, think about how you can provide that need for yourself today, almost as if you were your own kind, engaged parent looking out for your well-being.
That’s what I want for you this holiday season: I want you to parent yourself well. Make sure you get what you need first, so that you can pour from a cup that’s very, very full.
