I’m Krista, a fashion and travel blogger based in New York City. I work full time for Major League Baseball on all things Social Sponsorship. New York is my fifth state I’ve called home after California, Texas, Illinois and Kentucky. I’m a BIG U. Of Kentucky Basketball fan (and proud graduate) and love all things blue and white. I believe every girl should work hard, dress well and travel often.
How do you take care of yourself so that you’re physically and mentally prepared to be your best self for your loved ones?
I sleep a lot. I think getting a lot of sleep is really important to your physical and mental health. I try and get 8 hours during the week and I usually splurge by sleeping in on the weekends. It makes a world of difference.
What’s your favorite beauty secret?
Dry shampoo. I swear by DryBar Detox Dry.
What’s your favorite outfit for a quick, polished look?
I have two! One: a fit and flare dress + Chanel flats Two: white button down, jeans and heels — you can’t go wrong with either one!
Whats your favorite quick-prep dinner for your family?
Anything that can be delivered from Seamless (I almost never cook! It’s horrible, I know..)
Tell us your favorite Instagram account to follow, and why?
I really love @littleblondebook — she has some of the very best style and I love that her personality comes through her photos. She also has two babies at home so always looking good put together and perfect is truly inspiring!
What tradition or routine is important to you?
I send “I love you” texts before I take off on an airplane to my mom, sister and boyfriend. I’m never actually worried something will happen, but it’s for those just in case moments. It’ll be a quick, ‘I’m taking off, I love you’ because you never want to regret not saying it enough.
What’s in your purse?
My wallet, keys, a pair of Illesteva sunglasses, a notebook, pen, chapstick, lipstick, a charger and a ton of trash (whoops!) that I should probably clean out haha.
Where do you find your inspiration?
From those around me. I love living in New York especially because the people here are so different, classy and always put together.
We know you’re a busy lady! How do you balance all of your work responsibilities along with your home and personal life? Any tips for our readers?
I’m not going to lie, it’s hard and I’ve been totally underwater lately. But it’s all about managing your time and remembering that work has to come first. But I divide up my days with MLB work during my normal 9-5 hours and then blog work from 6-Midnight and weekends. Weekends are huge for productivity. Shooting, creating content, editing, filming– anything really you name it! A weekend well spent creates a month worth of content!
What’s your favorite app (or other tool!) for helping you do life?
I just recently got an Amazon Echo and therefore have the Alexa App. She’s like my personal assistant and it’s awesome. One of those things you didn’t know you needed but until you have it you can’t live without. Hahah
